# Joining a team and what happens to your data > Open the invite link, sign in or create an account, and accept. You join the team’s shared workspace and get access to its domains, scans, schema, and monitoring. Your own owned team stays intact and you can switch back to it any time. *Category: Teams & Collaboration · Last updated: 2026-07-07* --- You join a team by opening the invite link a teammate sends you. The link points to a join page that verifies the invite and walks you through the rest. If you are signed out, you create an account or sign in first; if you are already signed in, you just confirm. Once you accept, you are working inside that team’s shared workspace. ## How to accept an invite 1. Open the invite link you were sent. It goes to a "Team invitation" page that checks the invite. 2. If you are signed out, sign in with your work email, or switch to Sign up to create an account first. 3. Review the invite details: the organization, who invited you, the current team size, and when the invite expires. 4. Click Accept invitation. 5. A welcome popup confirms you have joined. Click Go to Dashboard to start in the shared workspace. > **Note:** If you sign up or sign in through the invite page (including with a social login), SuperSchema remembers the pending invite and accepts it for you automatically once you are authenticated, so you do not have to reopen the link. ## What you get access to Joining puts you inside the team’s shared workspace. From that point you and the rest of the team see the same resources: - The team’s domains, site scans, and SuperSchema Scores - The shared library of discovered URLs and generated schema - Monitoring, drift history, and AI visibility data for the shared domains - The team’s plan and its features, which are provided by the owner’s subscription The role you get (member or admin) is set by the person who created the invite, so what you can manage depends on that role. See team roles and permissions for the details. ## What happens to your own data Joining another team does not delete your own team. Your account still owns the team it was created with, and accepting an invite simply makes the new team your active workspace. You can switch back to your own team at any time from the team switcher; the two workspaces stay separate. > **Note:** You can belong to more than one team (up to 10), but you always work in one active team at a time. Switching between them is covered in leaving and switching teams. Remember that a HubSpot connection stays with your user account and does not move into a team you join. ## If the invite will not work When an invite cannot be used, the join page shows "This invite cannot be used" with a specific reason. The common ones are: **This invitation has already been used:** Invite links are single-use. Once someone accepts, the link is spent. Ask the team owner or an admin for a fresh link. **This invitation has expired:** Links expire 7 days after they are created. Ask for a new one. **Invalid invitation token:** The link is wrong or incomplete, often from a copy-paste that dropped characters. Get the full link again. **This team has reached maximum capacity:** Every seat on the team’s plan is taken. The owner needs to free a seat or move to a plan with more seats before you can join. **This team needs an active subscription before new members can join:** The team is not on an active paid plan right now, so joining is paused until the owner’s subscription is active. > **Warning:** If you are already a member of the team, accepting again does nothing new: SuperSchema tells you that you are already a member and sends you to the dashboard. ## Questions this answers - How do I accept a team invitation? - Do I need an account to join a team? - What do I get access to when I join a team? - What happens to my own data when I join someone else’s team? - Can I be in more than one team? - Why does my invite link say it is invalid or has expired? - Why can I not join, it says the team is at maximum capacity? - What if I am already a member of the team? ## Related - https://superschema.ai/docs/inviting-team-members - https://superschema.ai/docs/leaving-and-switching-teams - https://superschema.ai/docs/how-teams-work - https://superschema.ai/docs/team-roles-and-permissions
