# Understanding your scores

> SuperSchema shows three different scores that are easy to mix up: the schema quality score for one generated schema, the SuperSchema Score for your whole site, and the Citation Score for how often AI recommends you. Here is what each one answers and when you see it.

SuperSchema measures three different things, and each has its own score. They are easy to confuse because they all sound similar, but they answer different questions: is one schema good, is my whole site readable by AI, and does AI actually recommend me? This is the map. Each row below links to a deeper article.

### The three scores at a glance

| Score | Scale | What it answers | Where you see it |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Schema quality score | 0 to 100 | Is this one generated schema complete and well built? | After you generate or refine a schema |
| SuperSchema Score | 0 to 100 | Is my whole site ready for AI to find, read, and trust? | Your Site Scan report |
| Citation Score | % of answers | Do AI assistants actually recommend me when asked? | A domain’s AI Recommendations view |

### Schema quality score (one schema)

A per-schema grade from 0 to 100 for a single piece of JSON-LD. It answers "is this markup any good?" by checking two things: Completeness (are the right required, recommended, and advanced properties present?) and Quality Depth (are they implemented richly, with structured objects and clear entity links rather than bare strings?). You see it right after generating a schema, in the "Schema Quality Overview". Raise it by adding properties or running free AI refinement.

- Answers: is this single schema complete and well structured?
- Lives with the schema itself, in the generator and your Library.
- You control it directly by editing or refining that schema.

### SuperSchema Score (whole site)

Your site’s AI-visibility grade from 0 to 100, produced by a Site Scan. It answers "can AI systems find, read, and trust my site?" It is a weighted blend of five categories: Access (15%), Content (25%), Structure (15%), Schema (25%), and Alternate (20%). Schema markup is one input among five, so a great schema on one page will not, by itself, produce a great site score.

- Answers: how ready is my whole site for AI?
- Lives in the Site Scan report, with a letter grade and category breakdown.
- You raise it by fixing the weakest categories on your most important pages.

### Citation Score (real-world recommendation)

The share of tested AI answers that actually cite your domain. It answers "does AI recommend me?" SuperSchema runs real customer-style questions through assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini, then measures how often you show up. It is the outcome the other two scores are meant to drive. Citation tracking is included with paid monitoring plans.

- Answers: how often does AI actually recommend me versus competitors?
- Lives under a domain’s AI Recommendations view.
- It moves more slowly, as a downstream result of your site becoming clearer to AI.

### Which one should I look at?

- Improving one page’s markup right now? Look at the schema quality score.
- Want to know where your site stands overall for AI? Look at the SuperSchema Score.
- Want to know whether AI recommends you? Look at the Citation Score.

> **Note:** The three build on each other. Stronger schema quality scores and published AI-readable files lift your SuperSchema Score, and a stronger, clearer site tends to support a better Citation Score over time.
